Bakhoor, also known as bakhour or bukhoor, refers to wood chips soaked in fragrant perfume oils or natural ingredients like flower oils and resins. These chips are burned in special charcoal burners to release deep and rich woody fragrances. This tradition is common in Arabian culture and is often performed on special occasions or as a form of relaxation in the house. The Bakhoor is passed among guests in the main living area (majlis) as a sign of respect and hospitality. In recent years, due to the growing popularity of the beautiful scent of bakhoor, many perfume makers have created various perfume oils (attars) that mimic this rich aroma.
